Nepal Deathfest founded in January 2014 has now established itself as the most coveted and prestigious extreme music fest in the sub-continent of Asia. Thanks to our dedicate fans/ supporters and medias from both in and out of the country. We have successfully completed two instalment.
The inaugural show was a huge success and featured 6 bands from Nepal, India and Bangladesh and was witnessed by 500+ crowd.In second edition we went a step ahead and the event was hosted for two days straight with 12 bands playing. The headliner was the legendary Japanese band ‘Defiled’ and we also had ‘SxAx’ from Thailand and "Malapateka" from Malaysia along with nine Nepali bands.
The 3rd edition of NEPAL DEATHFEST is scheduled to happen in Kathmandu, Nepal on January 22nd and 23rd 2016. The fest is dedicated to bring some of the most accomplished and intense Extreme Metal acts from around the world together at a place. The event was planned with a vision of need to have an extreme event in this part of the world where similar extreme heads can come together, discuss and venerate this glorious genre we all adore and live for.
The International bands confirmed for 2016 are Fleshcrawl (Germany), Sete Star Sept (Japan), Nervo
Chaos (Brazil), Meat Train (England) and Rip Off (India). Dying Out Flame, a local band signed to Xtreem Music of Spain is confirmed too. For the first time out station bands are also making appearence in this edition. Rog from Pokhara, Undefined Human from Hetauda and Nihility from Banepa. Other local bands joining the ranks are Defleshed, Corpse Sick, Laash, Asphyxiate, Childwife and Grenade.
One of the great personality to join us in our 3rd edition as International Goodwill Ambassador is none other than Naty Metal from Costarica. She is widely popular for her work in alternative modeling field and underground metal scene. Her achievements are beyond descriptions and she will be promoting Nepal Deathfest through out the world.
Pragati Amatya, who is representing Nepal in Queen Of Asia 2015 is another important personality in our event. She is the official Goodwill Ambassador and spokes person of this edition and beside she is hosting the even in both days.
Jamsthan who is well known for supporting underground local bands joins us as our official photographer and videographer. Also Manish Photography and Anish Shakya are the elite members of this edition, the two photographers who are well known for their work will be with us to capture the two day event through their lenses.
Zivon Gurung says : “The fest is divided into two days; Day 1 is purely dedicated to Grindcore and
other extreme form of Metal while Day 2 is especially dedicated to Old School Metal, though a little
mix up should not surprise anyone. NDF is very emotional to respectfully dedicate its stage to two of
the most respected drummers that the metal world recently lost. Day 1 stage will be called ‘Martin
Kearns Stage’ (Bolt Thrower) and Day 2 stage will be called ‘Jim Konya Stage’ (Nun Slaughter)”.
